On 21st September, the send-off meeting to 2017 JHUN’s excellent students of Hubei who will participate in a study tour project abroad was held in Meeting Room 216 of the Administrative Building. The meeting was attended by LI Weidong, the Vice President, chiefs from Teaching Affairs, Postgraduate Services, Security Department, Office of Foreign Affairs and School of International Education, as well as representatives from Wuhan Yijincheng Investment and Consulting Co. Ltd., together with all students involved in the project. The meeting was presided by Chen Kai, the deputy dean of School of International Education.
During the meeting, Sun Hua, the deputy director of Teaching Affairs and Huang Yingbin, the deputy director of Postgraduate Services respectively introduced the significance and source of this study tour, admonishing that the students should cherish the opportunity to study, safeguard the image of China, and make friends extensively. They also wished the students a fruitful journey and a safe-and-sound return. Huang Song, the deputy director of Security Department, emphasized the aspects relating to personal safety, property security and non-disclosure of state secret when being abroad. Chen Kai, the deputy dean of School of International Education, introduced the itinerary of each group, assigned the communicative and study task, and especially interprets the Guide to China's Consular Protection and Services Overseas, the basic conditions and considerations in the host countries, information of Chinese embassies and consulates in the host countries and matters needed attention before the departure from China and after arriving at the host countries.
Li Weidong, the Vice President, said in the speech that the 2017 study tour abroad project for JHUN’s excellent students of Hubei is an important foreign affair activity in our school, which is also a well-organized study tour activity with big rewards. Therefore, he gave instructions to the students that they should understand that laboring is education while education equals life, and they should be equipped with an international vision. He also pointed that the students selected are the top ones in our school, and hoped that the students should show the high quality of Chinese college students, which represent a good image of JHUN, Wuhan, Hubei as well as China. He then reminded the students to take good care of the themselves as well as their property and wished the students a safe journey.
There are 20 students get the chance to participate in the project, all of whom have received the school supplies needed abroad provided by our school.
