During this summer vacation, 10 Jianghan University (JHUN) students’ overseas short-term exchange programs were successfully completed with more than 150 students and team teachers returning with gains. On the afternoon of Sep. 14th, the Report for Summer Study Tours was hold in Room 216 of the Administrative Building.
The report was hosted by Chen Kai, Deputy Dean of the School of International Education. Vice President Li Weidong attended the report. The student representatives of each exchange program took turns to make statements, sharing their experiences, gains and thoughts in the study tours.
There are 11 summer exchange programs in JHUN this summer, of which 10 programs including Daegu University of Korea, Stanford University, the University of Lincoln and the art study in France, Italy, and Spain were successfully completed and the Program in Yale University will start at the end of September. The student representatives of the 10 exchange programs presented results of the study tours. The students who went to Daegu University studied together and exchange with more than 90 students from all over the world with respective cultural backgrounds to enhance their understanding of different cultures; The student representative who went to the University of Lincoln compared the differences between Chinese and western academic thinking modes and classroom teaching methods; During their exchange in Stanford University, the students felt an intensive academic atmosphere in the class which began with games of relevant knowledge and supplemented by discussion and communication to achieve high class efficiency. All the students felt rewarding, for they not only expanded their horizon, contacted academic foreland, enjoyed different cultures, but also gained brand new understanding of study, life and many other aspects in the study tour experience.
