On April 20th, the second “One world, The Family” International Cultural Festival was held in our school successfully, with the theme of “Benevolence, Righteousness, Courtesy, Wisdom, Trustworthiness, loyalty, Filial piety, honesty, virtue”. Vice President Li Weidong attended the opening ceremony and made a speech. The relevant leaders of the CPC Publicity Department, CPC Students Affairs Department, Security Department, Office of Foreign Affairs, School of Medicine, School of Design, School of Humanities, School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering and other Departments and Schools and many foreign teachers of our school also attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by the Deputy Dean of the School of International Education Chen Kai.
Ten international student booths of Pakistan, India, Zambia and Tanzania, etc., seven booths composed of the Chinese students from every faculty of Italy, Britain and France, etc., three Chinese culture exhibition booths including Haitianya Poets Society, Feitian Folk Music Society and Han Fu Society, and three delicacy booths of baking, sugarcoated haws and sugar painting, as well as the booths of the JHUN, the School of International Education, Lingdong Siwei Art Design Co., Ltd. and the sponsor of this event Yakult were set up in the International Cultural Festival.
Sino-foreign culture displaying sections were also set up in the International Cultural Festival. Liu Zheng, teacher of the School of International Education, sang a song “Enjoy a Happy Get-together”, the Feitian Folk Music Society performed the folk music show, the African Drum Club interpreted the “MORIBAYSSA”, Han Fu Society performed catwalk show “State of Ceremonies”, NIPPO Comics Research Society performed the dance “LAMB”, and also cheerful interactive lottery draw sections were set up among the programs.
Teachers and students from more than 20 countries were attracted in the International Cultural Festival, who showed the brightest aspects of themselves according to the humanistic amorous feelings, national characteristics, life and diet, music and dance and other cultural characteristics of each country. With the culture of campus, the civilization has profound details; with the art of campus, the spirit can be enlightened and sublimated. The International Cultural Festival had created opportunities and provided platforms for the cohesion of spirit, integration of wisdom and improvement of quality of the teachers and students from China and foreign countries, and was an important measure for the JHUN to act on international convention to build an international multi-cultural campus at the same time.
The International Cultural Festival was hosted by the JHUN Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, and undertaken by the School of International Education and Colourful Wind International Students Association.
