On Jul. 8th, 7 people including Dacre Ticiana, Dean of Italian Academy of Fine Arts, Ordornio Stefania, Director of International Relations and personnel from Italian Association of Chinese Culture Education and Wuhan Cambridge Education International Research Institute came to Tanghu Gallery to negotiate cooperation affairs between Italian Academy of Fine Arts and JHUN. Vice President Li Weidong and relevant persons-in-charge of the School of Fine Arts, the School of International Education, the Office of Foreign Affairs and Tanghu Museum of Art attended the negotiation conference which was hosted by Chen Kai, Vice President of the School of International Education.
In the negotiation conference, vice President Li Weidong extended a warm welcome to the visitors from Italian Academy of Fine Arts and introduced basic information of JHUN, the school history, the development objective, the “applied, innovative, international talents” cultivation model, cooperation with other universities in China, exchange among universities, the students’ overseas short-term exchange program, the teachers’ visits to foreign countries and the history of Wuhan to them. Dacre Ticiana, Dean of Italian Academy of Fine Arts said she was very satisfied with the kind invitation and reception of JHUN and introduced the long school history, geographic location, academic institution arrangement and specialties of Italian Academy of Fine Arts. Dean of the School of Fine Arts, Dean of the School of Design and Tanghu Museum of Art Wang Xinyao introduced basic information the fine arts and design specialties of JHUN covering painting, sculpture, design, new media with complete specialties and leading teachers in Hubei, which cultivates many influential artists and educators all over China. He especially introduced Tanghu Museum of Art based on one of the three towns in Wuhan, which is entrusted to JHUN to serve local culture construction by providing a platform for domestic and overseas artists and teachers and students in universities.
Then, both sides negotiated the content of the memorandum of cooperation and said they will make international education as part of their strategic vision to positively promote academic exchanges, support international cooperation by teachers from both sides in research and teaching and they will provide visiting teachers with necessary convenience and help. With cultivating students with global vision as its development goal and strategic task, both sides will encourage students to undertake short-term academic and cultural exchanges, share education resources, and continue to discuss other possible forms of cooperation. on behalf of JHUN, Vice principal Li Weidong signed the memorandum of cooperation with Italian Academy of Fine Arts. After the negotiation conference, the visitors from Italian Academy of Fine Arts also visited Tanghu Museum of Art, Yingcai Square and the School of Fina Arts of JHUN.
