On the afternoon of May 19th, Zhang Xin, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of English Language and Culture of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, came to our School to conduct counterpart exchanges on the international cooperation projects of the school, and consulted with and promoted the relevant Sino-foreign cooperative education projects of the graduate students. Zhou Xin, Dean of the School of Foreign Studies of our university, attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by the Deputy Dean of the School of International Education Chen Kai.
At the meeting, Deputy Dean Zhang highlighted the education project of English education master degree jointly held by Guangdong University of Foreign Studies and the University of Reading, and explained that the project was a Sino-foreign cooperation education project qualified by the Ministry of Education of China. Full-time face-to-face teaching form was adopted for the courses. After completing all the required courses and obtaining the qualified credit, the students prepared to complete the thesis under the guidance of the instructor, and when completing the oral defense and passing the approval of the University of Reading, they could be granted the Master of English Education issued by the University of Reading, then the students could continue to apply for study for a doctor’s degree. At the same time, she also propagated and promoted the projects on English language literature, comparative cultural studies, foreign linguistics and applied linguistics, technology and assessment of the foreign language teaching, English education, English teaching and other majors.
