Mexican students complete acupuncture program

On December 1, 2017 Mexico Acupuncture Program Completion Ceremony was held in the Administrative Building, Room 217. All the students from Mexico Toluca State University and Ecatepec State University who are enrolled in the Acupuncture Program, JHUN Vice President Li Weidong, leaders and representatives of CPC Publicity Department, Educational Administration, Office of Foreign AffairsSchool of International Education and School of Medicine, and some faculty and student volunteers were present at the ceremony hosted by Chen Kai, Vice Dean of the School of International Education.

Eight students from Mexico Toluca State University and Ecatepec State University participated in theprogram. Changes and improvements having been made in the program-related teaching content, all eight students were actively involved in the high-quality acupuncture clinics training, learned extensively about Chinese traditional culture, and benefited immensely from the weekly internship at Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicineand Wuhan No. 1 Hospital.

At the ceremony, Vice President Li Weidong congratulated the students on their prominent achievements. He believed that this acupuncture program is a milestone in the university’s history of providing medical education and training worldwide and this is a significant opportunity for the university’sTraditional Chinese Medicine major to fully use its strength to expand its influence andto carry forward the education of the Chinese traditional medicine. Li also expressed his sincere hope that all students bringed back to their own country what they learned here and that new students come to JHUN next year.

Student representative Uribe Esquivel Anwar gave a speech at the ceremony to express their love for traditional Chinese medicine and culture and said that they all felt very happy and grateful for this 4-week academic visitoffered by JHUN. He also hoped that the faculty and students from JHUNwent to Mexico for a return academic visit.

The English major of the JHUN School of Foreign Languages and volunteer representative who has helped the Mexican students during their stay, Peng Di, said in her speech that she learned a lot from this experience and thanked all the teachers and Mexican students for their help and support. She is very proud to be a volunteer in this program and hoped that her Mexican friend came to China and visited Jianghan again in the future.

The Vice President awarded all students the Certificate of Course Completion and the transcripts and they were also given souvenirs with Chinese characteristics.
