IETC Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Camp Project of Our School in the U.S. Brings to a Successful Completion

11 students from the 2016 Jianghan University (JHUN) IETC Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Camp Project, sponsored by Youth League Committee and School of International Education, completed a 3-week learning in the United State and return to Wuhan smoothly on August 28.

11 students of the IETC project set out from Wuhan on the morning of August 8, and arrived at Detroit Airport, Michigan, USA, and arranged to live in the school by the Northwood University and began a series of learning. During the 2-week study in Northwood University, the students learnt the theory course of Business Model Canvas in the morning, which laid the theoretical foundation of innovation and entrepreneurship, in the afternoon, there were intensive English language courses and American culture learning courses, they also visited the innovation and entrepreneurship center in Midland and the former residence of DOW, the famous architect in the world, watched the American baseball game, toured in the German town of the Frankenmuth and other activities. A series of learning and activities helped students combining the learned theory with the innovation of relevant industries in the United State while knowing and understanding the American culture, learning in the knowing and understanding, thinking in the difference, reflecting and summarizing in the contrast, the effect is obvious. Good performance of the students from JHUN received high appraisal of the teachers and students of Northwood University, and interviewed by the principal of Northwood University on August 16, and were praised by the principals and best wishes of encouraging students to study abroad.

Students of IETC project flew to California State University, Long Beach on August 21, and lived in local families to continue the last week study in the United States. Except learning the relevant theory of leadership and team building in innovation and entrepreneurship course, the students also visited the University of California, Los Angeles, California Institute of Technology and other top universities in the world, and experienced the higher education in the United States. And visited the Clean Energy Technology Incubator of Los Angeles to know how the US clean energy enterprise integrates and innovates the technology and commercial, and visited the Universal Studios to know the frontier technology of operational mode and cultural product production of foreign culture industry. After a 20-day innovation and entrepreneurship exchange study in the United States, the students not only learned the knowledge, but also experienced the culture differences, knew the mode and vitality of innovation and entrepreneurship of American enterprises, realized how the American enterprises turn the technology to industry, experienced the independent thinking and self-ability developing and training of the students in American higher education, broadened their horizon and enriched their mind with great harvest. 11 students from IETC project were all smoothly graduated from Northwood University and California State University, Long Beach with good performances, successfully accomplished the 2016 foreign exchange program of innovation and entrepreneurship.

All members of IETC project expressed their appreciation of the opportunity for exchanging abroad provided by each department of the school this time, and they would continue to create further achievement with learned knowledge after they returned home.
