In the afternoon of June 30, at the classroom 110 of Staff & Students Activity Center, our school developed national safety education lecture before visit, which aims to roughly 100 teachers and students who would attend the exchange project in the United States, France, Japan, Korea, Ireland, New Zealand and other overseas (abroad) countries. The relevant responsible persons and leading teachers from the Security Department, Youth League Committee of the School, School of Business, School of Foreign Studies, School of Design, School of International Education and other departments and schools attended the lecture. The lecturewas presided by Xiong Hongping, the police officer of Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone Branch Hubin Police Station of Wuhan Public Security Bureau.
The police officer Xiong Hongping made concrete introduction from three terms including national safety knowledge, case analysis and matters needing attention before visiting. He explained the important clause in the The Espionage Act, and made an in-depth introduction to the cases happened in the learning process of abroad and overseas of the undergraduate in recent years. For the national safety work, the police officer Xiong poses several suggestions. Firstly, safeguard the national dignity and reputation of JHUN, comply with the laws and regulations of countries and regions, and show the high quality of Chinese undergraduate. Secondly, know local society culture, improve etiquette cultivation, and respect religious custom of the region. Thirdly, strengthen national safety awareness, precautionary and personal safety consciousness, the important documents such as passport and ID card shall be kept well and prepared a copy. Fourthly, take care of personal privacy and hygiene, don’t accept food or drinks from stranger.
The lecture enhanced the consciousness in national safety, precautionary and secrecy, and greatly helped the teachers and students’ personal safety and physical and mental health while staying abroad.
