On the evening of Dec. 28th, 2016, “Power of Role Models”- the Awarding Presentation Ceremony for the Academic Year 2015~2016 and Freshmen Welcome Party of Jianghan University (JNUN) were held in the Gymnasium of JNUN. Over 4000 people attended this ceremony, including leaders as Pan Hansheng, the Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Wuhan Municipal People’s Congress, Tan Renjie, the Vice President of Wuhan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, He Xiaoxi, the Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of Wuhan Municipal Party Committee, Xu Dingbin, Secretary of Wuhan Municipal Education Working Commission, Yan Hong, the Director of Wuhan Municipal Civilization Office, and Ye Wenjing, Secretary of Wuhan Youth League Committee; guests such as National Moral Models Wang Zhengyan, Yang Xiaoling and Liu Yang, and Wang Qun, the Second-class Hero Model of the National Public Security System; JHUN’s leaders such as Li Qiang, the President of JHUN, Zhang Yuping, the Secretary of the University Commission for Discipline Inspection, and Vice Presidents Tu Wenxue, Zhang Ying, Chen Gongjiang and Li Weidong; and the heads of the Schools and the Departments, teachers and students, and parents’ representatives.
As a classic event in the campus culture construction of JHUN, “Power of Role Models” not only has successively been awarded with the Second Prize in the University Campus Culture Construction issued by Hubei Provincial Department of Education and the Third Prize in University Campus Construction issued by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, but also has become the “Hall of Fame” for teachers and students of JHUN. The Ceremony for the year was themed in “Flower Blossoming in JHUN” with four scenes (i.e., “Peach Flower • Brilliant”, “Lotus Flower • Incorruptible”, “Chrysanthemum Flower • Stoic” and “Plum Flower • Tough”), demonstrating “Blooming and Flourishing” of teachers and students of JHUN.
The School of International Education invited more than 100 international students from more than 10 countries such as South Korea, Pakistan, Zambia, Ghana and Zimbabwe, of which 26 international students showed “Colourful Images” to the presented teachers and students.
