On the morning of Dec. 2nd, 2016, the Completion Ceremony of “2016 Mexico Acupuncture Study Abroad Program”met in 216#Conference Room, Administration Building, Jianghan University (JHUN). The Completion Ceremony was presided over by Li Ran, a teacher of the School of International Education, with attendees including: 9 students of “2016 Mexico Acupuncture Study Abroad Program”from Universidad Estatal Del Valle De Toluca, Zhang Ying, the Vice President of JHUN, Zheng Chenghong, the President of Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and relevant leaders and teachers from Teaching Affairs, Students Affairs Department, Office of Foreign Affairs, School of Medicine and School of International Education of JHUN.
During the Completion Ceremony, the Vice President Zhang Ying, on behalf of JHUN, congratulated all Mexican students on excellent achievements in the one-year study; in addition, she pointed out that the successful implementation of the program was an important measure taken for education internationalization, was a significant chapter of medical education for international students, and was an important opportunity for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) professionals to make full use of professional and disciplinary advantages, enlarge effects of specialty, and promote TCM education. It was the third time for the program to be implemented after the year 2014 and 2015. For the program in 2016, 9 outstanding students from Universidad Estatal Del Valle De Toluca were selected and appointed to come to JHUN for study and exchange. Besides, Zhang Ying expressed that she hoped all Mexican students to spread Chinese traditional acupuncture medicine and Chinese culture throughout Mexico, and she expected another group of Mexican students to come to JHUN, Wuhan, China for exchange and study in the next year.
Zheng Chenghong, the President of Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, expressed that she would schedule one-day externship once a week in Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (for such students), thus, providing a channel to multi-dimensional cooperation for the program. Through such externship in Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, such students would not only experience TCM technique, appreciate TCM spirit, and share thoughts about TCM, but may also introduce human style and features of Mexico to the hospital staff.
Tu Qian, the Vice President of the School of Medicine, expressed that all faculty and staff of the School of Medicine and the School of International Education, based on the successful implementation of the program in the last year, perfect contents of courses, provided clinical training of TCM acupuncture and Chinese traditional culture training, and created favorable learning and living environment.
RomeiroSantosAlexis, as the Mexican student representative, delivered a speech, expressed that it was really glad for him to study in JHUN, Wuhan, China, that he loved TCM and Chinese traditional culture, that he felt fulfilled and happy to study and live here, and that he hoped to come here for study again.
During the Completion Ceremony, 9 Mexican students showed fantastic Mexican folk song and dance. The Vice President Zhang Ying awarded all students certificates of completion, transcripts and souvenirs.
