2016 Mexico Acupuncture Studying Abroad Program Started in JHUN

On Nov. 7th, 2016, the Starting Ceremony of “2016 Mexico Acupuncture Study Abroad Program meets in 105#Conference Room of the School of International Education, with with attendees including: 9 students of 2016 Mexico Acupuncture Study Abroad Program” from Universidad Estatal Del Valle De Toluca, and relevant leaders and teachers from Students Affairs Department, Teaching Affairs, Office of Foreign Affairs, School of Medicine and School of International Education of Jianghan University (JHUN).

During the Starting Ceremony, Shu Xiji, the Vice President of the School of Medicine, extended a warm welcome to such students studying in JHUN. Through review on the implementation of the program, she pointed out that the successful implementation of the program promotes the implementation of short-term interuniversity exchange program of JHUN, made full use of professional advantages of medical disciplines of JHUN and enlarges effects of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) acupuncture specialty. In addition, she expressed that she hoped through this program, such students could diligently study acupuncture and TCM theory, carry out teaching, scientific research and academic exchanges, and promote friendship between China and Mexico.

RomeiroSantosAlexis, as a Mexican student representative, delivered a speech, expressed that he loved TCM and Chinese traditional culture and that he was looking forward to four weeks of learning and living in the JHUN.

Lei Wanzhong, the Secretary of the School of International Education, expressed that all faculty and staff will, based on the program implemented in the last year, summed up experiences, actively improved the program, carefully adjusted the contents of courses, improved learning environment, and made efforts to setting more plentiful and practical clinical training contents and creating a more favorable learning and living environment. Such students will, in four weeks as scheduled, receive theoretical and practical trainings about science of acupuncture & moxibustion, science of Chinese massage, TCM orthopaedics, Chinese medicine culture and other specialized knowledge; they also will have Chinese culture courses such as Primary Oral Chinese, Chinese Folk Music, Chinese Ethnic Dances, Chinese Calligraphy and Painting.

Subsequently, leaders of JHUN gave school supplies and souvenirs with Chinese characteristics to all Mexican students.
