Visit to Wuhan No.6 Hospital organized by the School of International Education

On July 29th, 2016, the School of International Education organized 48 international students from Asia, Africa and other areas to visit Wuhan No.6 Hospital, the second station of 2016 international students’ extracurricular activities in the summer camp.

Wuhan No.6 Hospital is the JHUN Teaching Hospital, which undertakes the tasks of clinical medicine major courses and clinical probations and practices, and builds 12 teaching and research offices including internal medicine, chirurgery, gynecotokology, otorhinolaryngology, dermatology, laboratory diagnostics, nursing and other subjects. The hospital achieved 54 scientific research results in nearly 10 years, and 15 terms of them reached the international level. Most of the visiting students are the sophister of clinical medicine major, so this activity is a rare probationary experience to them. The international students successively visited various outpatient disciplines, laboratory departments and wards of the hospital, and had a general understanding to the structure of the hospital. And the advanced 3D printing technology in the oral department gave them deep influenceand made them exclaim in great surprise. Besides that, the international students also watched an operation on renal calculi, the real operating process excited them, and the detailed explanation of the surgeon helped them profoundly understand the clinical operation. From theory to practice, they proposed various questions, constantly asked for advices in more advanced treatment method to the surgeon, and discussed better treatment technology with each other.

The international students benefited a lot from the Wuhan No.6 Hospital station in this summer extracurricular activity, especially the students from medicine major all expressed they wanted to practice in this hospital later, in addition, they said they would work harder in learning Chinese and medicine knowledge, and strive to be a qualified doctor at an early date.
