To further promote the communication and exchange between the international and Chinese students and to facilitate fostering the “practical, innovative and international” talents of the university, Jianghan University successfully held the “One world, The Family” International Cultural Festival at the Staff & Students Activity Center on April 14th. Vice President Tong Xingsheng and some leaders from Publicity Department of CPC, Office of Student Services, Communist Youth League Committee, Office of Educational Administration, School of Foreign Languages, School of International Education and other relevant departments and schools have attended the Opening Ceremony of the festival.
This International Cultural Festival consists of four parts which are Exotic Culture Presentation, “Running Man” at JHUN, Foreign Languages Singing Competition (Final), and Heritage-Presentation of Chinese Traditional Culture Exchange.
In Exotic Culture Presentation, local cultures, beliefs, food, history and traditional costumes and crafts of different countries were introduced through booth exhibition. Students representing different countries or cities dressed in their country’s traditional costumes and made fabulous performances such as typical singing and dancing and musical instrument playing. Some interesting games were also played.
In “Running Man” at JHUN, the relationship and communication between international students and Chinese students were enhanced, a harmonious campus environment was created through different games, such as Treasure-Hunting in Staff & Students Activity Center, Nametag Tearing, Sincere Communication.
In the Foreign Languages Singing Competition (Final), the singers have exhibited their charm, improved their foreign language abilities, presented the healthy image of current university students and created a lively campus environment by songs.
In Heritage-Presentation of Chinese Traditional Culture Exchange, calligraphy, face painting, Han embroider and other traditional Chinese culture were demonstrated by live show, interaction and teaching. A Han costumes show was also staged. Besides, there was a section particularly displaying the various exchange projects of Jianghan University.
The International Cultural Festival was not just a feast for cuisine and culture, but also a great opportunity for JHUNers to communicate with the world. Through the communication and exchange among various cultures, we expect to enhance the international development of our university.
