School of International Education organized over 70 international students from Asia, Africa and other areas to visit the New Museum of Wuhan Science and Technology Museum Feb.5th, which is the third station for international students to hold their after-class activity during winter vacation in 2016.
Wuhan New Science and Technology Museum is the biggest nationwide so far to use existing buildings and maintain the boat shape of original Wuhan passenger port which was once a landmark building in Wuhan Province. Meanwhile, the museum injected new elements and connotation of science and technology as well as popular science, demonstrating the new era concept of environmental protection and scientific development, implying “the boat of popular science” setting sails. The new museum contains eight regular exhibition halls including space exhibition hall, life exhibition hall and water exhibition hall as well as one outdoor exhibition hall of 1000 square meters on the roof. Among all the halls, the water exhibition hall and the light exhibition hall are initiative in our country. The total number of items on display reaches up to 600, each of which is unique and of meticulous creation.
During the visit, international students took great interest in all the science and technology as well as various inventions. Through participation, they experienced the changes modern science and technology bring about to people. In particular, the constant development of aerospace technology creates more convenient conditions for people to explore and discover the cosmic space.
