At the invitation of Hubei Study Tour Service Co., Ltd., the School of International Education organized a delegation of 24 people including the representatives of outstanding international students in JHUN (Jianghan University), under the guidance of the counselor Chen Xu, having a summer study tour in the Han Culture (Han City) Research and Tourism Base in Zaoyang.
Zaoyang City in Hubei Province boasts China Han City, the largest restored ancient urban complex in China. In Han City, our international students visited and experienced the typography. Through this study, they learned more about the lifestyle of the ancient Chinese people and experienced the great four great inventions of ancient China. After that, they went to the seismograph hall and visited the seismograph created by Zhang Heng. The students were amazed at the wisdom of the working people in ancient China by understanding the principles of the seismograph and thus raised their more interest in Chinese culture.
At the same time, Teacher Chen Xu and the local tour guide introduced the history of the Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period to the students. On this basis, international students experienced Zhuge Repeating Crossbow and watched the large-scale epic repertoire Ode to Han Dynasty. The performance is based on historical allusions and myths and legends. The integration of songs and dances around the globe creates a dreamlike atmosphere, demonstrating the profound Chinese cultural contents to the international students.
The event enriched the summer life of international students in JHUN, which not only helped them deeply understand the Chinese culture but also expanded their Chinese communication skills, thus building a beautiful bridge for friendship between China and foreign countries.
