On July 6th, the Pre-Departure Meeting for Short-Term Overseas Study and Exchange Program 2018 was held in Room 101 at the Teacher and Student Activity Center, Jianghan University (JHUN). Vice President Li Weidong, the heads of theCPC Publicity Department, Educational Administration, Postgraduate Services, Security Department, the School of Foreign Languages, the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, the School of Electromechanical and Architectural Engineering, the School of Business, the School of Medicine, the School of Fine Arts, the School of Music and the School of International Education, relevant teachers and all the students participating in the program attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Shi Xinran, a teacher from the School of International Education.
At the meeting, Ma Ziqin, the Deputy Director of Yan’an Research Institute of the CPC Publicity Department of the school, Zhong Shouchang, the Deputy Director of the Educational Administration, Huang Yingbin, the Deputy Director of the Postgraduate Services, and Chen Ruiming, the Deputy Director of the Security Department, all delivered important speeches. They all have high expectations for the outstanding students selected this time, requiring them to adhere to their ideals and beliefs, foster their cultural self-confidence, pay attention to their personal and property safety, and keep state secrets.
The heads of winning bidder of this year’s programs, namely, Wang Lan, the Managing Director of Wuhan Cambridge Education Service Consulting Co., Ltd., Li Dongsheng, the Managing Director of Looker Education Information Consulting (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Ding Xiaorong, the Project Chief of Wuhan Yujincheng Consulting Co., Ltd., and Gao Hui, the Project Chief of Wuhan Keshi Keyi Culture Communication Consulting Co., Ltd., were also invited to attend the meeting, and delivered speech respectively on behalf of the Summer Study Tour Program in the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, the Summer Study Tour Program in the National University of Singapore, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Camp (IETC), and the Visiting Program in the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. They all said that the cooperation with JHUN is very pleasant, introduced the implementation plan and process of the programs they undertake, and wished a complete success to all the groups.
Vice-President Li Weidong said in his speech that Short-Term Overseas Study and Exchange Program was an important foreign affairs activity of our school. All the groups select the outstanding students of JHUN. He hoped that everyone would complete the study and communication tasks in strict accordance with the requirements of the itinerary, show the high quality of Chinese college students outside the country, and represent a good image of JHUN, Wuhan, Hubei and even China. And he also wished the students a safe journey. Subsequently, Vice-President Li Weidong also presented the flag to the delegations on behalf of the JHUN and took a group photo.
The student groups participating in this pre-departure meeting include: the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Camp (IETC) in the US, the Leadership Enhancement Program in California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in the US, the Summer Study Tour Program in University of Sydney in Australia, the Study Tour in the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, the Visiting Program in the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany, the Summer Study Tour Program in IESA Arts and Culture School in Paris, France, the Study Tour Program in Cheongju University in the South Korea, and the Visiting Program in the National University of Singapore.
