From May 16th to May 17th, Prof. Ian Scowen, the Dean of the School of Chemistry of Lincoln University, Ms. Chen Hailan, the Director of the China Representative Office of University of Lincoln, and Project Manager of Mr. Fan Heli, visited Jianghan University (JHUN). Peng Wangming, the Vice President of the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, Shen Bo, the Deputy Secretary of the School and relevant teachers from the School of International Education received the delegation.
In the morning of May 17th, a conference was held in the conference room of the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering. The two sides had a comprehensive exchange on the 3+1+1 mode of international exchange and cooperation program of chemistry majors, exchange of visiting scholars and joint training of doctor, and conducted in-depth discussion about cooperation modes, teacher training, co-construction courses (bridging courses), and mutual recognition of credits.
During the visit, Professor Ian Scowen also held a meeting for all students who participated in the Summer Micro Study Tour Program in the University of Lincoln 2018, gave a lecture to the students of chemistry majors to introduce in detail the University of Lincoln’s school-running situation, culture and history, major setup, cooperation programs, etc., and welcomed everyone to study at the University of Lincoln if there is any opportunity.
It is reported that the University of Lincoln is a British state university, being regarded as one of the most modern and attractive campuses in the UK. It has been enlisted as one of the top ten universities in the UK twice. There are currently more than 2,000 international students from more than 50 different countries, and it is an internationally renowned research university. In this summer, JHUN will send 20 students to the UK to participate in the “the Summer Micro Study Tour Program in the University of Lincoln 2018”.
JHUN will take this exchange as an opportunity to give full play to the professional advantages of the disciplines, expand the influence of the majors, and further strengthen the close cooperation between the two universities in joint school-running programs and scientific research programs so as to continue to implement the internationalization of our school-running.
