On April 19th, the opening ceremony of the 2018 Chinese Culture Training Class for French Exchange Students was held in the conference room in the School of Foreign Languages. Three teachers and 25 students from the Ecole Élementaire Le Prieuré & Pangleva Catholic Private High School attended the opening ceremony together with the heads of the School of Foreign Languages and the School of International Education, representatives of teachers and student volunteers.
At the opening ceremony, everyone watched the “Promotion Film of Jianghan University (JHUN)”. Lei Wanzhong, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of International Education, and Zhang Yan, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Languages, presented school supplies to French teachers and students on behalf of JHUN, and wished them a successful and happy life. The representatives of student volunteers and representatives of French students gave speeches respectively. The training course will last for 6 days, mainly involving courses such “The Introduction of China”, “Chinese National Music”, “Chinese Wushu & Shadow Boxing”, etc., and these students will participate in the French Corner with students from the Department of French, watch the stage performance of Han Show at the weekend, and conduct cultural visits to the Hubei Provincial Museum, East Lake Greenway, Mulan Great Lake and other places.
This Chinese Culture Training Class for French Exchange Student aims to let French students learn Chinese language and culture, experience Chinese social life, further deepen their understanding of Chinese culture and society, and promote the development of friendly exchanges between China and French. Through exchanges with our students, we will enhance intercultural communication skills of each other, broaden our international horizons, and serve JHUN’s development goal of “international” talents.
