On November 5 the opening ceremony of the “2018 Acupuncture Study Program” was held in conference room 217 of JHUN’s Administration Building. The attendees include seven students from State University of Toluca and State University of Ecatepec in Mexico, Li Weidong, JHUN’s Vice President, and the senior management staff from Publicity Department, Educational Administration, Department of Student Affairs, Office of Foreign Affairs, School of Medicine and School of International Education.
As Vice President Li mentioned in his speech, it is the 5th time that the Acupuncture Study Program has been held in JHUN. Holding the program is an important measure for JHUN to vigorously implement international education and a vital opportunity for JHUN’s Traditional Chinese Medicine major to give full play to its professional advantages, expand professional influence, and greatly carry forward Traditional Chinese Medical education to the world.It creates an important chapter in the education of international medical students. He hopes to take this project as an opportunity to further strengthen the close cooperation among the three universities in China and Mexico in terms of teaching and research.
A Mexican student representative expressed her heartfelt gratitude to JHUN for the warm reception. She said that she is very passionate about learning traditional Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese culture. Full of expectations about the upcoming study life at JHUN, she hoped to take this chance to gain a deeper understanding of knowledge and skills about acupuncture.
In the end, on behalf of JHUN, Vice President Li presented ocarina and the school supplies featuring Chinese culture to the seven Mexican students in the program as gifts. He also granted them a banner, wishing them a success in their study at JHUN and hoping that they can spread traditional Chinese discipline——acupuncture in Mexico.
This program will last for four weeks, during which the participants will receive theoretical and practical training in the science of acupuncture, massage, TCM orthopaedics and traumatology and Chinese medicine culture. They will also have further contact with Chinese culture by learning basic spoken Chinese and practicingChinese folk musical instruments, martial arts and painting. In addition, they will visit famous scenic spots in Hubei Province or Wuhan at weekends.
