亲爱的国际学生们：
根据学校要求，2019-2020学年春季学期延期开学。从2月17日起按照本学期的教学计划安排，我们一同开启了一段独特的居家学习、网络学习新体验。目前已经上课2周了。为了让同学们了解学院在疫情防控期间的教学安排，帮助大家熟悉各项教学事项办理，教学办公室就一些共性问题为大家答疑解惑。
Dear international students,
According to Jianghan University (JHUN)’s requirements, the Spring Semester of the 2019-2020 Academic Year has been postponed. From February 17th, in accordance with the teaching plan for this semester, we have jointly launched a unique new learning experience at home/dorm and online learning. It has been in class for 2 weeks. In order to allow the students to understand School of International Education (SIE)’s teaching arrangements during the epidemic prevention and control period, and help everyone be familiar with the handling of various teaching matters, the Office of Academic Affairs of SIE hereby answers some of the common questions.
问题1：
2019-2020年春季学期什么时候开学？在收到学校正式开学通知后，如因特殊原因无法按时报到，我该怎么做？
When will the Spring Semester of 2019-2020 Academic Year start? What should I do if I cannot register on time due to special reasons after receiving the official opening notice?
答：根据教育部和学校统一部署，我校已发布推迟开学的通知，具体开学时间未定。开学时间一经确定，将提前发布通知。除留校学生外，全体同学禁止提前返校。如因特殊原因不能按时返校注册的同学，应至少提前三天联系所在年级辅导员，并提交请假申请。未经允许或无故推迟注册的同学，按《国际学生手册》中推迟注册相关规定处理。
Answer:According to the unified deployment of Ministry of Education and JHUN, the university has publicized the announcement on postponing the start of the Spring Semester of the 2019-2020 Academic Year. The opening date has not been confirmed yet. Once the opening date is confirmed, the university will inform you in advance. Apart from those who have been staying on campus, all the students must not to return to university in advance. If you are unable to return to school on time due to some special cases, you should contact the student counselor of your batch at least 3 days in advance and submit a leave application. Students who postpone registration without permission or for any reason shall be dealt with in accordance with the relevant regulations in theInternational Student Handbook.
问题2：
如何办理学习证明/成绩单？
How do I apply for study certificate/transcript?
答：延期开学期间，原则上不予办理学习证明/成绩单等，同学们如有需要应在正式开学后来学院办理。
Answer:Principally, during the postponement period, SIE will not issue study certificate/transcript. If you need these certificates, you should apply for them after the new semester officially starts.
问题3：
延期开学期间，同学们怎么上课？
How do I attend classes during the postponement period?
答：为加强新冠肺炎疫情防控，减少疫情对学习的影响，根据《湖北省教育厅关于做好疫情防控期间高校教学工作的通知》文件要求，我校于2月17日开展线上学习，同学们也应在网上上课。
Answer:To strengthen the prevention and control of the COVID-19 and reduce the impact of the epidemic on teaching and learning, in accordance with the requirements of the notice ofHubei Provincial Department of Education on Teaching in Colleges and Universities during Epidemic Prevention and Control, online courses are scheduled to begin on February 17th. International students are required to attend online study.

哪些课程实施在线教学？在线教学要持续多久？

答：2019-2020学年春季期所有理论课程和一部分适合开展线上教学的实践课程在正式开学前，全部采用网上授课。同学们返校后，网上授课酌情还将持续一段时间，条件具备的课程将逐步恢复课堂教学。
Answer:All theoretical courses and some practical courses suitable for online teaching in the Spring Semester of 2019-2020 Academic Year will be taught online before new semester officially starts. After the students return to school, the online teaching will continue for a period of time as appropriate, and classroom teaching will gradually resume according to the curriculum.

同学们线上学习的相关要求是什么？
What are the requirements on online learning for international students?
答：同学们应在开课前进入任课教师建立的学习群，根据任课教师的要求，及时在应用商店下载每门课程线上学习需要使用的学习软件，根据任课教师安排，认真完成线上教学内容学习，并积极与任课教师进行网上互动，主动参与任课教师设置的话题讨论，完成在线学习中布置的课堂测验和作业，适当增加自主学习时间。任课教师将强化过程考核，根据同学们在线学习的到课情况、课程参与及作业完成情况综合评价，赋予平时成绩，算入期末总成绩。
Answer:Students should enter the learning group established by the teacher before the class begins. According to the teacher’s request, download the learning software required for online learning of each course in the App store in time, and complete the online teaching content according to the teaching arrangement, and actively interact with the teacher on the Internet, actively participate in the topic of discussion set by the teacher, complete the tests and assignments arranged in online learning, and appropriately increase the autonomous learning time. Teachers in class will strengthen the assessment of the process, based on the comprehensive evaluation of the students’ online learning, course participation, and homework completion, give the usual grades and count them into the final grades.
特别提醒：
1. 同学们在学习过程中，若遇网络异常或其他特殊原因无法正常参与课程在线学习和互动，可先自行观看任课教师提前录制的课程教学视频（需登录课程群或任课教师指定的网址、邮箱提前下载保存），自学教材对应内容并按期完成课程作业，待网络正常后主动联系任课教师说明情况，对自己尚未掌握的难点和疑点问题及时与任课教师和同学们请教交流。
2. 对于学习难度较大的教学内容或因疫情原因不能参加在线学习的同学，待返校后，学院将组织任课教师适当集中补课，促进同学们对难点的吸收消化。
Special reminder:
1. In the course of learning, if students are unable to participate in the online learning and interaction of the course normally due to network abnormalities or other special reasons, they can first watch the course teaching videos recorded by the teacher in advance (required to log in to the course group or the URL and mailbox designated by the teacher. Download and save in advance), self-study the corresponding content of the textbooks and complete the coursework on schedule. After the network is normal, contact the teacher to explain the situation, and timely communicate with the teacher and classmates about any difficulties or questions concerning the lesson that they have not mastered.
2. For students whose learning content is too difficult to learn or who cannot participate in online learning due to epidemic conditions, after returning to school, supplementary classes will be organized to promote the absorption and digestion of the difficult teaching and learning points.

疫情防控期间采用哪种模式开展汉语教学？
Which kind of teaching mode is adopted in Chinese language teaching in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic?
答：同学们的汉语课程目前采用的是翻转课堂和在线直播学习相结合的模式开展。任课教师在在线教学平台上发布包括预习任务、课程讲义PPT、布置作业、测试练习等相关教学任务。汉语口语、听力等实时互动性强的课程采用在线直播教学模式，师生在线对话，任课教师讲解语料，同学们同步操练、作答。
学院为同学们提供Super Chinese App账号进行词汇与语法学习，HSK Online App账号进行单项训练及模拟测验，同学们应加强自学和练习。
Answer:Currently, Chinese language teaching is conducted through a combination of the inverted classroom model and online live video learning. Teachers upload the learning tasks on the online teaching platform, including tasks for previewing lessons, PPT of lesson outline, assignments, tests and exercises, etc. The online live video learning is applied to the courses which entail more interactive communication, such as Chinese speaking, listening and so on. Teachers and students can have conversations online. When teachers are demonstrating the structure of Chinese words, students can practice and give answers simultaneously.
Our school provides students with a Super Chinese App account for vocabulary and grammar learning, and HSK Online App account for individual training and mock tests. Students are recommended to strengthen their self-study and practice capability.

我没有教材如何开展学习？
How do I study without textbooks?
答：由任课教师负责提供电子教材或电子学习资料，供学习参考。
Answer:The teacher is responsible for providing electronic teaching materials or e-learning materials for reference.

目前主要使用了哪些学习平台？
What learning platforms are currently used?
答：目前的课程主要在微信群中进行，待课程教学稳定后会使用以下平台进行授课，同学们须提前下载如下软件：
1. 超星学习通，同学们务必提前安装好。该平台任课教师可以便于上传学习资料，记录同学们的学习情况，帮助同学们更好的进行课前预习、课中互动、课后统计，也可满足远程教学需求。
2. 腾讯课堂，是一款非常实用的线上教学软件。软件可以实现任课教师在线上课教学，同学们即时互动学习的课堂。
3. Zoom是国际知名视频会议应用，在疫情期间，免费向广大教育科研用户提供不限时长的视频会议服务。以满足当前在线教学、合作科研、协同办公的需求。
4. 中国大学生慕课是国内优质的中文MOOC学习平台，平台拥有千余门课程。
Answer:The current course is mainly conducted in the WeChat group. After the teaching of the course is stable, the following platforms will be used for teaching.
1.Super Star Learning Link, it is recommended that each student installs it in advance. Teachers using this platform can easily upload learning materials, record student learning, and help students better conduct pre-class previews, interactions during classes, and post-class statistics, as well as meet the needs of distance learning.
2.Tencent Class is a very practical online teaching software. The software can realize the teacher’s online teaching class, and the students’ interactive learning classroom.
3.Zoom is an internationally well-known video conferencing application. During the epidemic, it provides free video conferencing services to the majority of education and scientific research users for free. To meet the current needs of online teaching, collaborative research, and collaborative office.
4. Chinese college studentMOOC is a domestic high-quality ChineseMOOC learning platform with more than a thousand courses.
问题9：
我必须在课表规定的时间参与线上教学吗？
Do I have to participate in online classes at the time specified in the schedule?
答：是的，任课教师将在课表时间开展直播教学或线上集中辅导，并组织开展线上签到，计入平时成绩。不在课表时间参与线上教学将影响课程最终成绩。
Answer:Yes, teachers will teach according to the timetable of live teaching or online intensive tutoring, and organization of online check-in, and it will be included in the usual results. Participation in online courses outside of schedule time will affect the course’s final grade.
问题10：
线上教学如何考核？计算入总成绩吗？
How is online teaching assessed? Does it add up to the final score?
答：线上教学期间，任课教师会组织线上签到，并将在线教学活动纳入课程平时成绩考虑范围，包括在线点到、在线视频观看、在线讨论、在线测验、在线回答问题、在线评论等，分数占比由任课教师自行确定。
Answer:During the online course, teachers will organize online check-in and take online teaching activities into account in the course performance, this includes online point-to-point, online video viewing, online discussion, online quizzes, online responses to questions, online comments, etc.
问题11：
我如果有问题要向任课教师请教，能通过什么途径进行？
If I have a question to ask the teacher, what channels can I go through?
答：你既可在课表规定时间向任课教师在线提问，也可在其它时间到网络教学平台的讨论区或任课教师提供的其它方式向任课教师提问。
Answer:You can ask questions online at the time specified in the schedule, or at other times in online discussion forums or in other ways provided by the teacher.
问题12：
如果学习平台出现问题怎么办？
What if something goes wrong with the learning platform(s)?
答：由于课程平台目前压力很大，当所用教学平台登录较慢、卡顿严重或者出现问题时，同学们可以通过回放、在其它时间段学习等方式补课。如果课程平台出现问题时间较长，应与任课教师通过教学班、微信群、QQ群、邮件等方式联系，任课教师会根据情况指导学习或者调整教学方案。
Answer:As there are a large number of users on the curriculum platform now, when the platform is slow to log in or something goes wrong, students can study by playing back or studying at other times. If the problem occurs for a long time, you should contact the teacher through the teaching class, WeChat group, QQ group, email, etc. The teacher will guide the learning or adjust the teaching plan according to the situation.

网络条件不好导致学习困难怎么办？
What if I have difficulty in studying because of the network condition?
答：如果同学们确实因网络受限无法完成网络学习，应及时与任课教师联系，可通过微信群、QQ群、邮件等方式获取课程资料，进行自学，完成作业。
Answer:If students really cannot complete online learning because of the network constraints, you should contact the teacher in time and get course materials by WeChat group, QQ group, email, etc.
问题14：
上学期期末挂科科目的补考什么时候进行？
When is the make-up examination for the failed subjects of last term？
答：原定开学时的补考推迟至正式开学后进行，同学们可登录网站查询期末考试成绩，补考安排将和返校后的课程安排一起公布。有补考资格的同学须充分利用时间，认真复习，做好补考准备。
Answer:The make-up examination will be postponed until the new semester officially starts. Students can log on to the website for the final exam results. The make-up examination arrangements will be announced together with the back-to-school curriculum. Students who are qualified for the make-up examination should make full use of their time, review carefully and prepare for the make-up examination.
问题15：
重修科目如何缴费？重修课程如果和本学期课程冲突怎么办？
How do I pay for the retaken courses? What if there are conflicts with this semester’s course?
答：原定重修缴费时间推迟至正式开学后的第一、二周，须保留好重修通知单，先进行课程学习。
网络学习阶段需及时关注重修课程安排，加入课程群，听从任课教师安排。如重修课程与本学期课程冲突，应该优先学习本学期课程，课后回看重修课程内容进行自学，积极与任课教师沟通，按时完成课后作业。返校后重修课程与本学期课程冲突应填写重修通知单背面的《部分课程冲突免听申请表》，由任课教师签字后，于开课2周内交教学办公室存档。
Answer:The original time to pay for the retake has been postponed to the first two weeks after the new semester officially starts. Students should keep the revision notice and study the course first.
During the online learning phase, students should pay attention to the curriculum arrangements, join the curriculum group, follow the teacher’ s arrangement of. If the retaking course conflicts with the course of the current semester, you should study the course in advance. After class, you can learn the course by yourself, communicate with the teacher actively and finish the homework on time. Students should fill in theAttending-free Class Application for Conflict Part of Course Retakingon the back of the revision notice. TheApplication should be signed by the teacher and filed with the Office of Academic Affairs of SIE within 2 weeks after the course commences.
问题16：
课程中有实验课和实践课怎么办？
How about lab and practice classes in the course?
答：现场实验、实习、实践等教学活动暂停，待疫情结束同学们返校后再进行安排，具体开课计划调整后会提前通知到同学们。
Answer:The experiments, practice and other teaching activities will be suspended until the end of epidemic and students come back to school, then shall the arrangements continue. The students will be notified in advance of any specific adjustments to the plans.
问题17：
本学期的医院临床见习怎么安排？
How to arrange the clinical probation in the hospital of this semester?
答：临床医学专业2016级国际学生医院见习安排根据疫情发展和医院的情况进调整。待疫情结束后与医院沟通确定具备见习条件后安排见习。
Answer:The hospital internship arrangements of batch 2016 will be adjusted in accordance with the development of the epidemic and the hospital situation. After the end of the epidemic, talks will be held with the hospital to determine the arrangements of the clinical probation on the condition that the hospital is suitable for carrying out internship.
问题18：
本学期的临床实习怎么安排？
How to arrange the clinical practice scheduled of this semester?
答：临床医学专业2015级国际学生临床实习分以下两种情况安排：
1. 留校实习的实习时间将根据疫情发展情况和实习医院的情况进调整。同学们须提前复习《临床医学汉语》进一步提升汉语水平并复习各科目专业知识，等待新的实习安排。未在中国的同学们需等疫情结束后及时返校。
2. 已申请回国或去非生源国实习并获得批准的同学们，如已在国外可按所在国的实际情况进行实习，服从实习医院安排，填写毕业实习手册。现仍在中国的学生须等疫情结束后回国实习，应提前与实习医院沟通，适当推迟实习开始时间。同学们如果愿意在中国实习，可等疫情结束后向学院申请，并根据学院安排进行实习。
Answer:Batch 2015’s clinical practice stands in the following 2 situations:
1. The clinical practice time will be adjusted according to the development of the epidemic situation and internship hospital situation. Students should reviewClinical Medical Chinesein advance to further improve their Chinese level and review their professional knowledge of various subjects, and wait for the updated clinical practice arrangement. Students who are not in China will have to wait for the epidemic to end before returning to school.
2. For those students who have applied for and obtained approval to return to their home country or go to a non-student’s country of origin to do clinical practice, if you can start your clinical practice abroad according to the actual situation in the host country, your clinical practices are subject to the arrangements of the internship hospital, and you should fill in theClinical Medicine Senior Clerkship Record Book. For those students who are still in China, you must wait for the end of the epidemic and return to your home country to do clinical practice. You should communicate with the internship hospital in advance and postpone the start time of internship as appropriate. If you are willing to do clinical practice in China, you can apply for that and do your clinical practice according to the arrangement of SIE after the epidemic comes to its end..
问题19：
本学期的延迟开学会不会影响正常毕业？
Will the postponement of the Spring Semester of 2019-2020 Academic Year affect graduation?
答：教育部表示，高校大学生毕业季应该是6月、7月，教育部会密切研判形势，根据疫情变化，适时做出关于高校毕业论文、毕业设计和答辩时间的具体安排。
临床医学专业毕业实习是48周+2周自选科室实习，推迟至疫情结束后，目前预判时间是充足的。但毕业考试的准备时间会进行压缩。同学们应提前复习所学内容，尤其是内科、外科、妇科和产科、儿科。HSK考试将在疫情结束后举行，同学们须利用这段时间认真学习汉语，准备HSK考试。毕业需达到该专业的毕业标准后才能毕业。
Answer:Ministry of Education (MOE) of the People’s Republic of China stated that the graduation season for college and university students is generally June or July. MOE will consider this situation, and make timely arrangements accordingly for the graduation thesis, graduation project and defense time.
Clinical practice is 48 weeks plus 2 weeks self-selected departments internship. It will be postponed till the end of the epidemic. From current situation, there is enough time to implement it. However, the preparation time for the graduation exams will surely be compressed. Students should review those subjects in advance, especially in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Pediatrics. The HSK test will be held after the epidemic ends. Students must use this special period of time to study Chinese and prepare for the HSK test. Besides, every graduate must meet the graduation criteria of his/her major before he/she can graduate.

同学们如果有其他疑问应该怎么办？
What can students do if they have other questions?
答：可以微信联系教学办公室的袁老师和杨老师。
Answer:You can contact Teacher Yuan and Teacher Yang of the Office of Academic Affairs on WeChat.
如中、英文本有任何不一致或冲突，概以中文本为准。
If there is any inconsistency or conflict the Chinese and English versions, the Chinese version shall prevail for all purposes.
